Kia Enters CNG Segment with Carens and Clavis
Kia has officially expanded its footprint in the Indian automotive market by launching its first-ever factory-fitted CNG cars, the Kia Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG. These vehicles have been highly anticipated by families looking for a spacious 7-seater option with the economical running costs of CNG.
Pricing and Variants
The Kia Carens CNG is priced at Rs 12.12 lakh, while the Carens Clavis CNG starts at Rs 12.39 lakh. They directly compete with established models like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG and Toyota Rumion CNG in the Indian market.
Engine and Performance
Both models are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 96 HP and 123 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. While official mileage figures are awaited, experts estimate a return of 22-25 km/kg.
