Bollywood star Katrina Kaif's life is synonymous with glamour, stardom, and immense luxury. However, her mother Suzanne Turquotte's lifestyle is poles apart from this glittering world. While the actress lives amidst high-profile comforts, her mother chose a quiet rural area in Tamil Nadu, far away from the spotlight, to make her home.
Here, she lives with utmost simplicity, dedicating her life to children's education, charity, and helping the underprivileged. Surprisingly, she has limited access to electricity and lives completely devoid of modern luxuries.
Leaving London Comforts For Rural Service
This journey began in 2008 when Suzanne left her life in London to move to rural Tamil Nadu. She established an NGO named 'Relief Projects India' aimed at providing a better future for underprivileged rural children. Starting with free tuition centers for government school kids, the initiative gradually expanded into community development, healthcare, and child protection programs.
In 2015, Suzanne founded a school that started with just 30 children and has now grown into a recognized primary institution educating hundreds of kids.
Coping Without Stable Electricity and Internet
Katrina had previously revealed in interviews that her mother's life there is far from easy. With electricity available for only about 12 hours a day, connectivity is often an issue, and simple tasks like FaceTime calls become difficult due to network and power limitations. Despite these hardships, Suzanne remains deeply committed and content with her mission.
