Severe Floods Impact 15 Districts Across Bihar
Bihar is currently grappling with a severe flood situation affecting nearly 49.67 lakh people across 15 districts. Areas like Patna, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Bhagalpur, and Begusarai are facing massive disruptions as river water levels rise. The state administration has been working round-the-clock to execute rescue operations and move stranded residents to safety.
Nitin Nabin Extends Financial Support
Stepping up during this crisis, BJP National President Nitin Nabin has contributed ₹6,35,000, representing his three months' salary as a Rajya Sabha MP, to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Nabin emphasized that the entire government stands firmly with the affected families and is monitoring the situation continuously to ensure timely assistance.
Relief Operations and Central Assistance
According to state reports, over ₹550 crore in financial assistance has already been distributed to flood victims at ₹7,000 per family. NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed extensively, while Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently visited the affected regions to review ongoing relief and rescue operations.
