AAP Expands List for Gandhinagar Civic Polls
The political landscape in Gujarat is heating up as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced its second list of candidates for the upcoming Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) elections. The party aims to present a strong alternative by fielding candidates who have a deep grassroots connection and a history of working for local civic issues.
Dr. Karan Barot, AAP's state organization minister and chief spokesperson, revealed the names through an official video message. He stated that the candidates were finalized under the guidance of AAP Gujarat State President Isudan Gadhvi and State Organization General Secretary Manoj Sorathiya. With the addition of these six new names, the total number of declared candidates for Gandhinagar has now reached 29.
Ward-Wise Candidate Breakdown
The newly announced list includes candidates for specific wards in Gandhinagar, focusing on community leaders and active local workers. Ishwarbhai Vaghela and Vilasben Makwana have been fielded from Ward Number 2. Meanwhile, Shireenbano Mansooriy, Sharif Makrani, and Lalbhai Vanjhara will contest from Ward Number 4, and Jay Vaghela has been given a ticket from Ward Number 5.
The party leadership emphasized that these individuals have consistently raised local issues and worked closely with residents. By focusing on ward-level governance and accountability, AAP is trying to position itself as a viable challenger in the urban civic body.
By-Election Focus in Devbhumi Dwarka
In addition to the municipal corporation elections, AAP has also announced its candidate for the upcoming rural by-election. Veerabhai Kandoriya has been fielded for the Bhadthar seat in the Devbhumi Dwarka District Panchayat. This move highlights the party's dual strategy of expanding its footprint in both urban civic bodies and rural local governance structures across Gujarat.

Reiterating the party's core agenda, AAP leaders appealed to the citizens of Gandhinagar and the wider state of Gujarat to support their candidates.
