BJP Decides to Contest All 117 Seats Alone in Punjab
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has shifted its political strategy in Punjab by announcing that it will contest all 117 assembly seats independently in the upcoming elections. Senior party leader Keval Singh Dhillon made it clear that there will be no alliance with any regional or national political party in the state.
This decision is seen as a major turning point in Punjab's political landscape. Long known for playing the role of a junior partner in past coalitions, the BJP is now aiming to establish itself as an independent and primary political force in the region, strengthening its grassroots organization.
Main Focus on Eradicating Drugs and Gangster Culture
Highlighting the pressing issues of the state, Dhillon stated that the primary agenda of the party is to rid Punjab of the menace of drugs, corruption, and the rising gangster culture. The party aims to restore law and order and provide a safe environment for all citizens.
In addition to safety and security, reviving the state's economy and generating large-scale employment opportunities for the youth will remain at the forefront of the party's election manifesto.
Aiming for a Double-Engine Government
The BJP leadership expressed full confidence that the people of Punjab are looking for a reliable leadership and will bring a 'double-engine' government to power by supporting the BJP. The party plans to leverage central welfare schemes and development initiatives to appeal to voters across urban and rural constituencies.
