Cybersecurity experts point out that deepfakes possess the dangerous capability to tarnish anyone's reputation in a matter of seconds. In this particular case, a calculated conspiracy appears to have been executed where sophisticated software was deployed to generate sexually explicit morphed images. The widespread circulation of such manipulated content not only infringes upon individual privacy but also raises serious questions regarding digital safety and content governance.
Grave Allegations Against Organization Members and FIR
According to the legal complaint filed by the victim, individuals associated with a specific organization orchestrated the entire conspiracy. The petition explicitly names four key individuals: Sourav Das, Abhijit Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka, and Ratna Singh. It is alleged that these individuals unlawfully accessed the woman's private photographs and utilized AI to convert them into vulgar and defamatory images, which were subsequently weaponized during public demonstrations.
Prompted by the distressing incident, the victim approached law enforcement, leading the Cyber Cell of the Delhi Police to register an official First Information Report. Technical experts within the police department are currently analyzing the servers and software used to generate these fake images to gather irrefutable evidence against the accused parties.

Despite the registration of the FIR, the failure to apprehend the main culprits has drawn sharp criticism. The petition highlights the systemic delays in arresting the primary respondents and points out the lack of effective legal notices served to Meta Platforms Inc. to purge the illicit content from the internet.
