Directly targeting the opposition, the TDP chief asserted that attempts to damage international confidence in India's electoral process for minor political gains are deeply regrettable. He emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and fellow commissioners, the poll body functions collectively and strictly within the bounds of established rules.
Offering a word of advice to political leaders across the spectrum, the veteran leader remarked that winning and losing are part of any democratic process and must be accepted gracefully. Naidu stressed that maintaining public faith in democratic institutions is a collective responsibility of leaders from every political party.
Major Relief in Voter List Revision Rules with Doorstep Verification
Amid controversies surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the poll panel has introduced a major relief measure. Voters who received notices regarding 'unmapped' or logical discrepancies will no longer be required to make personal physical appearances at government offices.
According to the updated protocol, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will personally visit the residences of these voters to collect necessary documents. These documents will then be uploaded to the ECINet software, following which Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) will take a final decision. This step has saved citizens from unnecessary hassles and streamlined the verification process.
Clarification on Official Correspondence and Completed Processes
The Election Commission also addressed discussions regarding a letter sent to the cabinet secretary, clarifying that it was not related to any policy matter or IT division affairs, but rather pertained strictly to the administrative functioning of an official on deputation.
Citing that the SIR process has already concluded smoothly in 20 states and union territories, including Bihar and West Bengal, the poll body reiterated that any eligible citizen, youth, or first-time voter whose name was missed can apply through continuous updating channels.

Special drives are being initiated immediately to ensure every eligible citizen is added to the electoral rolls before upcoming polls.
