A firm deadline of March 31, 2027, has been established for full compliance across designated properties. Despite previous regulations under energy conservation amendments, numerous residential societies and commercial establishments have continued to rely heavily on conventional grid power and diesel generators, prompting the administration to step in with more rigorous oversight.
Who Needs to Install Solar Panels?
Under the current regulatory framework, mandatory rooftop solar installations apply to residential plots measuring 500 square yards or more, group housing societies, and commercial buildings with a sanctioned load exceeding 50 kilowatts. The state administration has made it clear that adherence to these guidelines is non-negotiable for large-scale properties.
Concurrently, the state is aggressively pushing the central 'PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana'. This initiative aims to complete installations in over 2.22 lakh households by the same 2027 deadline. Nationally, the scheme has already achieved massive capacity milestones, providing substantial relief to countless families struggling with high electricity bills.
Subsidies and Simplified Billing Procedures
To ease the financial burden on citizens, distribution companies like the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) have accelerated subsidy disbursements. Thousands of beneficiaries have already received substantial financial aid directly into their accounts, crossing a major milestone toward the overall connectivity targets set by the administration.
Administrative bottlenecks are also being systematically addressed. Payment protocols have been streamlined, ensuring that net-meters and auto-load enhancement charges are billed strictly after commissioning rather than upfront.
