Why Did Hero Motors Shares Face Sudden Selling Pressure?
Hero Motors shares recently experienced a sudden wave of selling pressure after delivering robust short-term returns to investors. Following a stellar performance in initial trading sessions, profit-booking kicked in, dragging the stock down to its 10% lower circuit limit.
Market experts note that such profit-taking is a natural phenomenon after a massive rally. Short-term traders and early investors chose to lock in their gains, leading to downward pressure on the stock price.
Stock Still Trades Above Listing Price Despite Correction
Even though the stock hit the lower circuit and triggered concerns, it continues to trade significantly higher than its initial issue price. Shares fell to 127.67 rupees on the BSE, marking the lowest trading limit for the session.
However, compared to its listing price of 82 rupees, the stock is still trading over 55 percent higher. The company had recently touched a new 52-week high of 156.03 rupees before the correction set in.
IPO Details and Expansion Plans
Hero Motors had set its IPO price band at 79 to 84 rupees per share, raising a total of 1,000 crores through a mix of fresh issues and an offer-for-sale. The company plans to utilize 190 crores from the proceeds to pay off debt.
Additionally, the firm will invest 200 crores to expand manufacturing capacity at its plant in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, bolstering long-term growth prospects.
