Hero MotoCorp Dominates the Indian Two-Wheeler Market
Hero MotoCorp has wrapped up an impressive month of August 2026, showcasing robust growth in the Indian automotive sector. Amid changing market dynamics and rising demand for reliable commuting options, the company managed to dispatch a total of 5,41,038 two-wheelers. This translates to an overall year-on-year growth of 4.53 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.
Moreover, the company witnessed a notable month-on-month surge of 8.22 percent in its sales figures. In July, Hero had retailed 4,99,943 units, which comfortably crossed the five-lakh mark in August. Industry experts attribute this upward trend to pre-festive season preparations and sustained rural demand for fuel-efficient and budget-friendly motorcycles.
Splendor Continues Unmatched Market Dominance
The crown jewel of Hero's product portfolio, the iconic Splendor series, remains the undisputed king of Indian roads. In August 2026, the company sold an astounding 3,53,842 units of the Splendor alone. This stellar performance underlines the unwavering trust that everyday commuters place in this legendary brand.
Comparing it with the previous year, Splendor registered an impressive 13.52 percent growth, up from 3,11,698 units sold in August 2025. The bike's timeless design, exceptional durability, and low cost of ownership continue to make it the top choice for millions of households across urban and rural India.
Affordable Pricing and Exceptional Mileage
Priced competitively, the entry-level Hero Splendor Plus starts at an ex-showroom price of ₹77,777, making it highly accessible to budget-conscious buyers. Powered by a dependable 97.2 cc engine producing 5.9 kW of power and 8.05 Nm of torque, it is designed for optimal daily utility. Furthermore, its remarkable mileage of approximately 70 kilometers per liter acts as a major economic relief for riders navigating rising fuel expenses.
HF Deluxe Secures the Second Spot
While Splendor leads by a massive margin, Hero's HF Deluxe remains the second highest-selling motorcycle in the company's lineup, recording 69,794 units in August. Alongside other offerings in the 100cc to 125cc segments, Hero MotoCorp continues to solidify its stronghold as India's premier two-wheeler manufacturer.
