A similar incident has emerged from a major city in Uttar Pradesh, raising serious questions about law and order as well as the growing apathy among the general public. The circulating video clearly shows a group of aggressive youths ruthlessly beating a lone man. Following the widespread circulation of this footage, local authorities have sprung into action, while deep concern has gripped local residents regarding community safety. People on social media have also expressed anger over the fact that despite several bystanders being present, no one stepped forward to rescue the victim.
The Root Cause: A Petty Dispute Over Public Drinking
According to police sources, the entire episode began over a minor argument that escalated into a violent assault. The victim, identified as Sachin, is a resident of Vijaynagar who works near a local square in the Sadar Bazar police station area. A few days prior to the incident, some unknown youths were sitting and drinking alcohol near his workplace. Sachin objected to their behaviour and asked them to move away, which angered the group.
An argument and minor scuffle had ensued back then, but the intoxicated youths took it as an insult to their ego and decided to take revenge. They waited for an opportunity to catch Sachin alone. This incident highlights how quickly minor disagreements turn into violent confrontations when individuals decide to take the law into their own hands.

Days after the initial dispute, as Sachin was going about his work on Tuesday morning, the accused cornered him near the bustling Hanuman Chowk. Without warning, they started beating him with kicks, punches, and slaps. The assault continued in full public view, yet no passerby dared to intervene or rescue the victim.
Perhaps the most shameful aspect of the incident was that instead of helping, an onlooker recorded the entire assault on a mobile phone. This video was subsequently uploaded to the internet, spreading rapidly across various social media platforms within hours.

SHO Akhilesh Kumar Mishra stated that the police are in contact with the victim Sachin and are recording his formal statement. Raids are being planned to nab the suspects. Authorities have assured that rowdyism and blatant violations of the law will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
