Major decision by Mohan Yadav government, job paths cleared for Agniveers in Madhya Pradesh
In a significant step to secure the future of youth returning after serving in the Indian Army, the Mohan Yadav government in Madhya Pradesh has opened up new avenues of employment at the state level. The state cabinet has decided to double the reservation for Agniveers in uniformed government departments from 10 percent to 20 percent.
During a high-level cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the new proposal was formally approved. Cabinet ministers briefed the media about the decision, emphasizing that providing priority in state services to brave soldiers returning after defending the nation is a top priority for the government.
With the first batch of Agniveers who enlisted from Madhya Pradesh four years ago approaching the completion of their tenure, this new reservation rule will provide a reliable employment option. The first batch is scheduled to return after December 2026, and the state government's decision ensures they will have assured job opportunities waiting for them.
Uniformed services and departments included in the new reservation policy
Under the newly approved guidelines, several key departments will give preference to Agniveers in their upcoming recruitments. MSME Minister Chaitanya Kashyap informed that the quota for Agniveers has been enhanced in uniformed services across the state. This includes positions such as police constables, armed force constables, jail guards, forest guards, excise department posts, and home guard recruitments.
A horizontal reservation of 20 percent will be implemented for returning Agniveers in all these upcoming vacancies. This ensures the quota is exclusively reserved for Agniveers without disturbing the existing reservation matrix for other social categories or communities.
Rigorous preparation for Agneepath recruitment rally in Sagar
While the state government works on policy-level job security, ground-level recruitment drives are also progressing rapidly. Starting October 1, a major Agniveer recruitment rally is scheduled to begin in Sagar district, offering opportunities to youth from nearly ten surrounding districts.
Approximately 11,000 candidates from districts including Sagar, Shivpuri, Chhatarpur, Datia, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Sheopur, Bhind, Morena, and Gwalior are expected to participate. The recruitment rally will run across multiple weeks covering general duty, technical, clerk, store keeper, and tradesman categories.
