Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has launched a scathing attack on the Punjab government over the critical issue of youth employment. During his visit to Amritsar, where he interacted with party workers and welcomed leaders joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, Saini challenged the ruling administration to come clean on its employment track record. He demanded that the state government immediately release a comprehensive white paper detailing the exact number of jobs given to the youth over the past five years.
Challenging Broken Promises and Accountability
Addressing a large gathering in Amritsar, flanked by senior party leaders including former MP Sweta Malik, district president Salil Kapoor, and others, Chief Minister Saini stated that employment is not merely a political slogan. He emphasized that it directly impacts the financial security and future of millions of households. He reminded the audience that major political players had promised massive job creation ahead of the elections, yet the ground reality remains grim and disappointing.
Saini pointed out that the youth of Punjab deserve clear answers regarding the tall claims made during election campaigns. According to him, when governments fail to deliver on fundamental promises like employment, the entire demographic dividend turns into frustration. By demanding a formal white paper, he has cornered the state leadership to place authentic data in the public domain rather than relying on rhetoric.
The Haryana Employment Model: Transparency and Merit
Highlighting the governance model of his own state, Chief Minister Saini shared that Haryana has successfully transformed its recruitment landscape. He stated that in roughly 18 months, his administration has provided nearly 45,000 government jobs completely on the basis of merit, strictly following a 'no favoritism, no corruption' policy.

He detailed ongoing recruitment drives in Haryana, including nearly 5,600 police personnel slots and about 8,500 other departmental vacancies. He reiterated that the goal is to liberate young job-seekers from the clutches of middlemen and political brokers, ensuring that talent alone determines success.
Criticism of Recruitment Flaws and Welfare Schemes
Referring to recent controversies surrounding excise inspector recruitment results in Punjab, Saini remarked that public trust is fragile and easily shattered when transparency is compromised. He noted that fair recruitment processes are the bedrock of a healthy democracy.
Furthermore, the Haryana CM outlined several welfare achievements in his state, including direct financial assistance transfers to women's bank accounts, allocation of free residential plots measuring 100 square yards in rural areas and 30 square yards in urban areas for poor families under housing schemes, benefiting over 32,000 families directly.
