Nissan Unveils New Compact Electric Vehicle
The electric vehicle market continues to expand rapidly as manufacturers introduce innovative models tailored for urban environments. Japanese automotive giant Nissan has officially taken the wraps off its newest compact electric car, the Nissan Pixo. Designed specifically with city commuting and tight spaces in mind, this small yet capable EV aims to make electric mobility accessible and practical for everyday families.
While official pricing details will be revealed closer to the end of the year, the vehicle's unveiled specifications have already sparked considerable interest among automotive enthusiasts. The Pixo combines a practical footprint with modern aesthetics, making it an ideal choice for navigating crowded metropolitan streets without compromising on interior comfort.

Despite its compact exterior dimensions—measuring 3,796 mm in length and 1,790 mm in width—the Nissan Pixo offers a surprisingly spacious cabin configured for four occupants. One of its standout features is the sliding rear seat arrangement, allowing users to adjust legroom and cargo space flexibly according to their immediate needs.
Storage is another area where this small EV excels. With the rear seats in place, the Pixo provides 356 liters of boot space, complemented by a dedicated 50-liter compartment for storing charging cables. Additional storage pockets totaling 18 liters are distributed thoughtfully throughout the cabin, ensuring that daily essentials are always within easy reach.
Robust Motor and Impressive Driving Range
Powering the Nissan Pixo is a 60 kW electric motor engineered to deliver brisk and responsive performance in stop-and-go city traffic. According to manufacturer estimates, a fully charged battery provides a driving range of up to 259 kilometers, making it more than adequate for daily commutes and routine errands.
The vehicle utilizes a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, marking the first time Nissan has incorporated LFP battery technology into an electric car destined for the European market. This chemistry is chosen for its enhanced thermal stability, safety profile, and longevity.
Rapid Charging Capabilities for Maximum Convenience
To address range anxiety and charging downtime, the Pixo supports both standard AC and high-speed DC charging options. While an 11 kW AC charger is suitable for overnight home charging, the inclusion of 50 kW DC fast charging allows the battery to be replenished from zero to 80 percent in just 28 minutes.
This rapid turnaround time ensures that drivers spend less time plugged in and more time on the road, significantly enhancing the vehicle's practicality for longer weekend getaways.
Advanced Tech Integration and Smart Features
The interior of the Nissan Pixo is packed with advanced digital technologies. The driver faces a clear 7-inch instrument display paired with a larger 10-inch central touchscreen infotainment system featuring built-in Google services. Furthermore, the car includes a Gemini voice assistant capable of supporting 16 distinct languages and regional dialects.
Safety and personalization are further elevated with the inclusion of a Face ID recognition feature, which identifies different drivers and automatically adjusts cabin settings to their personal preferences. Additionally, one-pedal driving is provided as a standard feature, reducing driver fatigue in heavy traffic by allowing acceleration, deceleration, and braking through a single pedal.
