Major Overhaul in National Testing Agency: New Office and CISF Security
The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting major entrance exams across the country, is undergoing a massive transformation. Following widespread controversies, administrative lapses, and paper leak allegations related to crucial examinations like NEET-UG, the agency has initiated a comprehensive structural overhaul.
As part of these corrective measures, NTA has relocated its core confidential operations to a secure new facility in the national capital. To ensure absolute safety and prevent any unauthorized access to sensitive material, the security of the new premises has been handed over entirely to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
Relocation to Minto Road Government Press Building
The confidential examination operations of the NTA have been shifted to the Government of India Press Building located on Minto Road in central Delhi. The agency has been allotted over 55,000 square feet of space across the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors of the building.
Along with the physical relocation, the internal working mechanism has also been restructured. Instead of ad-hoc units formed for specific exams, the agency is now establishing dedicated functional verticals based on domain expertise and professional specialization, ensuring better accountability and efficiency.
CISF Deployed for Strict Access Control
Marking a significant departure from previous security norms, the Ministry of Home Affairs approved CISF deployment for the new NTA headquarters. A contingent of 39 CISF personnel has been stationed at the Minto Road facility to monitor entry and exit points round the clock.
Advanced security gadgets, including X-ray baggage screening systems and Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD), have been installed. Access to the sensitive zones of the building is now strictly regulated through biometric controls and authorized clearance passes, minimizing human error and potential insider threats.

Administrative Upgrades and Expert Panel Oversight
The agency is also bolstering its workforce by inducting experienced bureaucrats and domain experts from various central services, including IAS, IPS, IRS, and statistical services. Recruitment drives are underway to onboard specialists in human resources, information security, exam evaluation, and vigilance.
Concurrently, a high-level committee headed by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani has been working extensively on structural reforms. The panel's recommendations and regular progress updates are being submitted to the Supreme Court as part of ongoing judicial oversight to restore absolute faith in public examinations.
Multi-Layered Protocols from Question Paper to Result
To plug all possible loopholes, NTA has instituted rigorous end-to-end security protocols. From the initial drafting and translation of question papers to printing, secure transit, and final evaluation, every single stage is subjected to strict monitoring.
Candidate verification has been upgraded using Aadhaar-based biometric and facial authentication technologies. Furthermore, exam venues are now equipped with real-time AI surveillance tools, jammer networks, and multi-layered oversight mechanisms to guarantee fair and tamper-proof examinations.
