The Harsh Reality of Unemployment and Industrial Scarcity in Bihar
Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraaj and a prominent political figure in Bihar, has made a candid admission regarding employment. He stated that due to the total lack of industrial units and large-scale factories within the state, he is compelled to help local youth secure jobs outside Bihar, going against his own core principles.
Addressing supporters during a social media live session for the Tirhut graduate constituency election, Kishor explained that even for his commitment to provide jobs to ten thousand people in Bankipur, the majority of placements will have to be arranged outside the state. He expressed deep regret that despite wanting local youth to work close to their homes, the prevailing economic ecosystem leaves no other viable option.
Tirhut Graduate Election and Political Critiques
During his interaction, Kishor focused heavily on the upcoming legislative council elections, urging educated voters to use their franchise wisely. He criticized major political parties for utilizing divisive strategies during the 2025 assembly elections, accusing them of manipulating voters through fear and financial inducements.
He emphasized that while graduate elections do not form or collapse governments directly, they serve as a crucial platform to register public dissent against administrative high-handedness and apathy. He encouraged voters to express their frustration regarding recent incidents of police action and systemic failures by supporting independent, educated candidates.
