Rising Danger for Anti-Drug Activists

This incident comes on the heels of another shocking murder in Mansa, where prominent anti-inder Singh Jhota was shot dead following a dispute over the alleged illegal sale of prescription drugs at a medical store. Jhota had gained local recognition for running continuous campaigns against drug abuse. The latest killing in Sri Hargobindpur has further intensified concerns regarding the safety and security of social activists taking a stand against the drug mafia in Punjab.

Local law enforcement authorities have registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. Police officials have stated that raids are underway to apprehend the culprits involved in the fatal assault. However, recurring violence against anti-drug advocates has sparked widespread public outrage and demands for stringent action against the perpetrators.
