Authorities believe that individuals who have neglected their ration cards for over half a year either migrated elsewhere or no longer require state assistance. Consequently, maintaining these dormant cards in the database constitutes a misuse of public resources. Therefore, distribution facilities on these specific cards could face temporary suspension starting October 1, 2026.
Freezing Does Not Mean Permanent Cancellation
Citizens naturally wonder if a frozen ration card implies permanent removal from the welfare database. Administrative officials have clarified that freezing a card does not mean it is permanently cancelled. The government aims to give citizens an opportunity to prove their eligibility and rectify documentation errors, ensuring no genuine person loses their rights.
