Political Tensions Rise in Punjab: BJP Leader Ravneet Bittu Detained
Political temperatures have soared in Punjab ahead of the upcoming elections, with protests and heated exchanges becoming a daily routine. In the latest development, senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu was detained by the Punjab Police in Ludhiana. Bittu was staging a unique protest against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, carrying a bottle of alcohol, eggs, and tomatoes to hand over to the CM.
The incident occurred near the Punjab Agricultural University where Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was scheduled to attend an event. Even before the CM's arrival, Bittu and his supporters gathered at the spot and began raising slogans. Police and security forces intervened swiftly to maintain law and order, taking the BJP leader into preventive custody.
The Symbolic Protest and Attack on CM Mann
Holding the bottle of alcohol and vegetables, Ravneet Bittu lashed out at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He remarked that the CM should enjoy his drinks and hand over the actual administration of Punjab to AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal. The opposition continues to target the ruling AAP government over the deteriorating law and order situation and the rampant drug menace in the state.

The immediate catalyst for this face-off is the BJP's upcoming 'Nashamukt Punjab Yatra' aimed at ridding the state of drug addiction. While the BJP insists on taking this campaign forward, AAP workers have strongly opposed it, showing black flags to BJP leaders across various districts. Bittu warned that such disruptions must stop immediately, or the ruling party will face similar consequences.
