NEW DELHI: Amid rising political tension in the national capital, a new video has sparked widespread discussion on social media. Shared by prominent news agency PTI on X, the video features Delhi AAP chief Saurabh Bharadwaj claiming he managed to reach Jantar Mantar from his home without using a car, scooter, or any vehicle, noting that while nearby metro stations were closed, people could use alternative open stations.
This development coincides with stringent security measures and movement restrictions around key areas like Jantar Mantar. Reports indicate that several political figures attempting to gather or voice their concerns on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti were detained by the police. Notably, RJD MP Manoj Jha was reportedly detained near Jantar Mantar, raising questions from a police van regarding the restrictions on a day of national significance.
The video has elicited mixed reactions from netizens, with supporters and critics debating the transit restrictions and the political optics surrounding the event. While law enforcement agencies maintain strict vigilance over the area, official statements regarding specific transit blockades are awaited.
