Major Uproar Over Viral Video Showing Harassment of Students
Safety and security of minors have once again come under severe scrutiny following the emergence of a disturbing video showing a minor student being harassed in public. The video, which went viral on social media platforms, triggered widespread anger among citizens, parents, and student organizations.
The footage clearly depicts anti-social elements engaging in unacceptable behavior, prompting immediate calls for strict legal action. As public resentment grew, youth organizations decided to take matters to the streets to demand swift justice and accountability from local law enforcement agencies.
ABVP Leads Massive Protest Rally Demanding Immediate Arrests
Under the banner of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), hundreds of students and activists took to the streets to voice their anger. Carrying placards and banners, the protesters marched through major thoroughfares, raising slogans against the perpetrators and demanding immediate arrests.
Student leaders emphasized that such deplorable acts cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. They called for a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and urged the administration to ensure the safety of students in public spaces.
Demonstration Outside Collectorate and Road Blockade at Kachhari Chowk
The protesters later reached the district collectorate gates, staging a sit-in demonstration and raising anti-administration slogans due to the initial lack of official response. Frustrated by the delayed reaction, the students moved to Kachhari Chowk and blocked traffic, causing long queues of vehicles and disrupting daily commutes.
Senior administrative officials, including the local development officer (BDO) and police personnel, rushed to the spot to negotiate with the agitating students. After receiving firm assurances that a thorough investigation is underway and all culprits will soon be arrested, the students called off the protest and cleared the road.
