Workers in the state will no longer need to wander around traditional labor squares in search of daily work, as the newly launched 'Digital Labor Chowk App' brings employment opportunities and government welfare schemes directly to their mobile phones.
Empowering Workers Through Digital Labor Chowk App
Traditionally, daily wage laborers and construction workers gather at specific city squares early in the morning, facing uncertainty over getting work and fair wages. To eliminate this struggle and protect workers from exploitation by middlemen, the Uttar Pradesh government has rolled out the Digital Labor Chowk mobile application. The app connects workers directly with employers based on their skills and expertise.
Recently, teams from the Labor Department organized special awareness and registration camps in various regions. Officials personally assisted workers in downloading the app on their smartphones and explained how to use it. By registering on this digital platform, workers can easily access employment opportunities matching their qualifications, saving both time and effort while ensuring stable earnings.
Ensuring Social Security and Welfare Schemes
Apart from employment, the government is focusing heavily on financial security and social welfare for workers. Detailed information about schemes operated by the UP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board was provided during these camps. Officials highlighted that numerous welfare programs have been designed to safeguard the future of workers and their families.
Assistant Labor Commissioner Chatrapal Baranwal stated that schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana and NPS Traders Yojana, under the UP Social Security Board, act as a financial safety net for workers during their old age and times of crisis.

Department officials encouraged workers to take full advantage of this scheme to secure a brighter future for their families.
