Historic Cabinet Meeting Held in Banbasa
In a significant shift from traditional governance, the Uttarakhand government held its cabinet meeting outside Dehradun for the first time in 26 years, choosing Banbasa in the Champawat district near the Indo-Nepal border. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami led the session, which approved around 25 crucial proposals aimed at grassroots development and public welfare.
Substantial Hike in Doctor Stipends
Addressing the healthcare sector's demands, the state cabinet significantly increased the monthly stipend for senior and junior resident doctors. Previously hovering around Rs 75,000, the amount has now been elevated to over Rs 1 lakh, providing a major financial boost to medical professionals serving across government institutions.
Land Regularization and Rural Economy Initiatives
The government also extended the deadline for the regularization of 'Class B' lands by one year in regions like Dehradun, Lalकुआं, and Bindukhatta, bringing relief to numerous families. Additionally, financial incentives and subsidies were introduced for poultry farmers to strengthen the rural economy and generate localized employment opportunities.
