Massive Rally in Whirlpool India Shares
The stock market witnessed a massive rally as shares of Whirlpool of India Limited surged 20 percent to reach an intraday high of Rs 865.35 on Wednesday. Despite this sharp jump, the stock has faced a downward trend over the past twelve months, registering a correction of around 34.53 percent. This recent upward movement has caught the attention of both retail and institutional investors who are closely tracking corporate developments.
Trading volumes on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) saw a massive spike, with approximately 8.91 लाख shares changing hands compared to a two-week average volume of around 94,000 shares. Total turnover for the company reached Rs 73.57 crore, pushing its market capitalization to Rs 10,978.85 crore.
The Catalyst Behind the Surge
The sudden spurt in share price was triggered by media reports suggesting that Whirlpool Mauritius is set to sell its stake in Whirlpool India. According to shareholding data ending June 2026, the parent promoter entity held a substantial 39.76 percent stake in the Indian subsidiary. Such strategic stake-sale announcements often create intense speculative buying in the market as investors anticipate new leadership or corporate restructuring.
Analyst Perspectives and Technical Outlook
Market experts and technical analysts have shared diverse views on the future trajectory of the stock. AR Ramachandran, a SEBI-registered research analyst, points out that daily charts indicate strong bullish momentum with a solid support base around the Rs 772 mark. A sustained daily close above Rs 875 could pave the way for a target of Rs 978 in the near term.
Similarly, Jigar S Patel from Anand Rathi notes that immediate support rests near Rs 820, while resistance is pegged around Rs 900. A decisive breakout above the Rs 900 threshold could propel the stock towards Rs 940, keeping it range-bound in the short term.
Important Advice for Investors
