World Para Athletics Championships 2027 to be Hosted in Tashkent
World Para Athletics has officially released the medal program and stringent qualification guidelines for the upcoming World Para Athletics Championships 2027, scheduled to take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The prestigious global sporting event will be hosted at the Olympic City Sport Stadium from June 19 to June 27, 2027.
This upcoming world championship is anticipated to be a landmark event, not just for the host nation Uzbekistan—marking the largest sporting event ever held in the country—but for the global para-sports community as a whole. Expanded Medal Events and Categories
The Tashkent 2027 championships will feature all the events from the previous New Delhi 2025 World Championships, alongside an exciting addition of 16 extra medal events. This expansion brings the total number of medal events to an impressive 202.
Out of these 202 total medal events, 111 will be contested by men, 90 by women, and one will be a mixed event. Sports analysts believe this diverse and expanded lineup will offer greater opportunities for athletes across various classifications to showcase their exceptional talents.
