Following directives from the police headquarters, a special campaign was launched under the supervision of the Additional Director General of Police (Crime) to update fragmented crime data on the 'Yaksh App'. Previously, incomplete information from various police stations often hindered effective investigations by field officers.
During this campaign, all police districts were strictly instructed to upload detailed information regarding registered cases in a standardized format on time. Senior officials are continuously monitoring this process to ensure data quality and build a robust digital repository.
Recording Precise Timelines, Locations, and Weapons
With the new updates, simply logging an FIR is no longer sufficient; detailed contextual information about the incident is now mandatory. This includes the exact date, whether the crime occurred during morning, afternoon, or night, and the precise time. Furthermore, the system categorizes whether the crime took place in an urban or rural area.
Details regarding the weapons used in offenses are also digitally secured. This information is vital for investigators to cross-reference evidence from older cases with new incidents, helping determine if the same weapon was deployed in multiple crimes.
Modus Operandi Tracking for Better Profiling
Understanding a criminal's modus operandi is often the biggest hurdle in solving complex cases. The updated 'Yaksh App' now captures specific methods used to execute offenses alongside the primary crime categories.
This digital record helps police identify active syndicates operating across regions using similar tactics. Officials note that this transparency not only streamlines station workflows but also strengthens prosecution cases in courts.

This mechanism allows police units anywhere in the state to quickly verify if a detained suspect has a history of involvement in similar asset-related crimes, thereby exposing inter-district and interstate criminal networks.
Strict Security Protocols with CUG Login
To maintain data confidentiality, strict security standards have been implemented. At the police station level, logging into the 'Yaksh App' is restricted to the Station House Officer's (SHO) official CUG number and corresponding OTP verification, preventing unauthorized access.
Officials are mandated to review data-feeding progress daily, ensuring that technological integration translates into tangible improvements in law enforcement and public safety.
