Video: New White House Press Secretary Accidentally Calls President Trump 'My Husband' During First Briefing

US President Donald Trump’s newly appointed Press Secretary, Katie Zacharia, faced reporters in the White House press briefing room for the very first time on Tuesday. However, her debut proved to be remarkably brief. Lasting only about 14 minutes, the briefing saw her take questions from just three media outlets before abruptly ending the session, creating a massive wave of discussion across internet platforms.

At the beginning of the briefing, Zacharia heaped praise on President Trump, stating that she felt deeply honored to work alongside him and had long desired to serve in his administration. She then proceeded to read prepared statements regarding the administration's policies and accomplishments. However, the most viral moment arrived when journalists questioned her on how she plans to balance the rigorous demands of being a White House Press Secretary with raising her four children.

A Freudian Slip That Left the Room Stunned

While attempting to explain her routine and mention her husband's support in managing family time, Zacharia suffered an embarrassing slip of the tongue. Instead of referring to her spouse, she accidentally called the President her husband. She stumbled, saying, "My president... excuse me, my husband..."

Realizing her blunder, she attempted to laugh it off, remarking with a smile, "Oh, that was a good one." Following the awkward moment, she quickly pivoted back to praising Trump and wrapped up the briefing shortly thereafter, citing that the President was scheduled to depart for Alaska aboard Marine One. Interestingly, reports noted that Trump actually left the White House nearly an hour and a half later.
