Rajkot horror: Man murdered with 13 knife stabs in 23 seconds over sister's love marriage

A Brutal Crime Rooted in Family Enmity

A shocking incident of cold-blooded murder has shaken the city of Rajkot in Gujarat, bringing to light the dark side of deep-seated family disputes. A 27-year-old man was brutally killed in broad daylight simply because he had entered into a love marriage seven years ago. The entire sequence of events has been captured on a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera, sending shockwaves across the region.

The victim has been identified as Vimal Vania. The horrific attack took place near the Bhaktinagar Circle in Rajkot. Acting swiftly on the case, local police and crime branch teams managed to apprehend the prime accused, Kamlesh Dhandhal, along with an associate. Authorities are currently interrogating the accused to unearth all facets of the conspiracy.

The Pretext of Vehicle Documents

According to investigative officers, the murder was not a sudden burst of anger but a meticulously planned conspiracy. The accused used an everyday administrative matter as bait to lure the victim. Vimal Vania had recently purchased a new vehicle for his wife, and the official registration certificate (RC Book) had inadvertently arrived at her family's former residential address.

Seizing this opportunity, Kamlesh contacted Vimal under the guise of handing over the vehicle papers. When Vimal arrived at the designated spot near a local shop, the accused forcefully dragged him out onto the street. What began as a heated argument quickly escalated into extreme violence as the accused drew a concealed knife.

Thirteen Stabs in Just Twenty-Three Seconds

The chilling CCTV footage reveals the sheer brutality of the assault, showing the victim with virtually no time to defend himself. Within a span of just 23 seconds, Vimal was stabbed approximately thirteen times. He collapsed onto the pavement, bleeding profusely, as onlookers watched in sheer horror and disbelief.

Realizing the gravity of the situation and with locals beginning to gather at the scene, the assailant fled on a motorcycle. Although the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, attending physicians pronounced him dead upon arrival due to severe trauma and massive blood loss.

A Grievance Spanning Seven Years

Police investigations reveal that the root cause of the tragedy traces back to a marriage that took place seven years ago. Vimal had married Sheetal of his own free will, a union strongly opposed by her family. Relations had severed completely since then, but the underlying resentment apparently festered over time.

The dispute over the vehicle's registration papers acted merely as a catalyst to bring the victim within striking distance. Law enforcement agencies are examining call records and additional digital evidence to determine whether anyone else aided in planning the execution.

A Widow's Plea for Justice

The untimely demise of Vimal Vania has left his wife and young child devastated. In her formal complaint lodged with the police, Sheetal stated that her brother deceitfully called her husband and executed a pre-planned murder.

Specialized police units, including the Local Crime Branch (LCB), continue to gather forensic evidence to build a robust legal case against the perpetrators. The tragic episode underscores the lingering threat of honor-related violence in contemporary society.
