The government has significantly scaled up financial resources for rural and tribal development. According to official data, the central budget for rural development has been increased from ₹87,765 crore in 2016-17 to ₹2.73 lakh crore in 2026-27.
Similarly, the central budget for the Ministry of Tribal Affairs has grown from ₹4,826 crore in 2016-17 to ₹15,421.97 crore in 2026-27. These enhanced allocations are rapidly bridging long-standing gaps in infrastructure and welfare across remote regions.

Flagship educational campaigns have successfully improved enrollment levels among economically weaker sections. The Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) for girls at the secondary level (classes 9-10) has risen from 75.5% in 2014-15 to 83.4% in 2025-26.
