Popular YouTuber and digital content creator Dhruv Rathee is facing fresh legal hurdles as a Delhi Saket Court has ordered a fresh summons to be issued against him in an eight-year-old case. The court has directed for the notice to be served at his Gurugram address, while also granting the complainant permission to accompany the process server to ensure proper delivery. The next hearing in this matter has been listed for October 17.
Background of the Case and Complainant's Plea
This development stems from an older petition filed by Vikas Salkantayan alias Vikas Pandey. The court's strict directive aims to ensure that high-profile digital creators are properly served with judicial notices without unnecessary delays. All eyes are now set on the upcoming October 17 hearing, which could determine the further course of action in this long-pending legal dispute.
Apart from this ongoing matter, Rathee has been embroiled in multiple other controversies and legal cases. Bharatiya Janata Party leader Suresh Karamshi Nakhua had previously filed a defamation suit seeking Rs 20 lakh in damages against Rathee, accusing him of using derogatory labels in a July 2024 video. Additionally, complaints have been lodged concerning remarks on Hindu deities and religious sentiments, highlighting the mounting legal challenges surrounding his online content.
