We Are Not Insects: AISA President Neha Bora Detained By Delhi Police During CEC Protest

The political and student unrest in the national capital intensified as protests against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar continued for the third consecutive day. All India Students Association (AISA) National President Neha Bora was detained by Delhi Police during a demonstration near Jantar Mantar, sparking massive outrage among student wings and opposition leaders.

According to student members, Neha Bora was forcefully bundled into a private vehicle without any number plates and taken to an undisclosed location. Furthermore, allegations were raised that no female police officer was present inside the vehicle, violating standard legal protocols for detaining women. The sudden action caused chaos and confusion among protestors regarding her safety and whereabouts.

Later, it was confirmed that she was taken to the Narela Industrial Area police station, where she was eventually released. Following her release, Neha Bora posted a video on social media expressing her anger. She fiercely stated that citizens have every right to question those in power and asserted that students are honorable citizens of the country, not insects or cockroaches to be tossed around by authorities.

Meanwhile, high-voltage drama was witnessed near India Gate and Raisina Road as well, where AAP leaders including Saurabh Bhardwaj and members of the Indian Youth Congress also held demonstrations and candle marches. Heavy police and paramilitary forces were deployed across central Delhi to maintain law and order amidst growing protests over alleged irregularities in the electoral process.
