New Hyundai Tucson 2027 Unveiled Globally with Bold Design and Advanced Hybrid Engine Options

Hyundai has officially taken the wraps off its highly anticipated fifth-generation SUV, the Hyundai Tucson 2027, during a premier global event held in New York. The latest generation brings a massive transformation to the popular SUV lineup, featuring completely overhauled styling, an upgraded cabin, and highly efficient hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options.

Adopting Hyundai's fresh 'Art of Steel' design language, the new Tucson looks significantly boxier, more muscular, and commands a much stronger road presence compared to its predecessor. The vehicle has also grown in physical proportions. The long-wheelbase version measures 4,700 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, making it notably longer, wider, and taller than the outgoing model. The wheelbase has been stretched by 30 mm to 2,785 mm, significantly improving interior legroom and overall cabin comfort.

Inside, the cabin boasts a clean, layered dashboard layout complemented by high-tech infotainment displays and ergonomic physical controls for frequently used functions. Under the hood, Hyundai is offering a diverse range of powertrain options, including traditional petrol variants, standard hybrids, and a powerful Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) variant. The PHEV version pairs a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and a 17.1 kWh battery pack, pumping out an impressive 292 horsepower and offering an all-electric driving range of up to 81 kilometers.
