Startling Revelations Surface After Top Lashkar Commander's Neutralization

The elimination of top Lashkar-e-Tayiba operational commander Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa in the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir marked a significant victory for security forces. Neutralized during an intense gunfight in the Yousmarg area of Budgam district, Moosa was a wanted terrorist involved in major attacks, including the infamous 2025 Pahalgam terror strike. Intelligence dossiers later revealed that he was a former commando of the Pakistan Army's Special Services Group (SSG).

As security agencies dug deeper into his operational network, astonishing details emerged regarding how he survived prolonged periods in dense forests. Cut off from formal medical infrastructure due to relentless security grid operations, Moosa had to resort to desperate measures to stay alive and functional in the rugged terrains of Pir Panjal and surrounding areas.

Using Traditional Honey Remedies for Severe Gunshot Wounds

During 'Operation Sheruwali' in the Dorimol-Gammir Mughla sector of Rajouri, which lasted over 45 days, Moosa had sustained gunshot injuries during a fierce exchange of fire with security forces. Trapped deep inside the forests alongside his associate Yasir, immediate surgical intervention or hospital access was completely ruled out due to heavy cordon-and-search protocols.

According to investigative findings, with no doctors available in the wilderness, Moosa turned to unconventional methods to prevent tissue necrosis and severe bacterial infections. He reportedly applied pure honey directly onto his bullet wounds. Believed in traditional practices to possess antibacterial and rapid tissue-recovery properties, this home remedy became his only makeshift treatment to keep gangrene at bay.

Photographic Evidence Sent Across the Border to Handlers

The extent of Moosa's coordination with his handlers in Pakistan came to light through digital forensics. Following the neutralization of his associate Yasir in a separate encounter in September, security forces recovered a mobile phone containing explicit photographs of Moosa's injuries and his honey-based treatment routine.

"Terror commanders maintain continuous communication with their handlers in across the border. Sharing photographs of battle injuries serves to prove their survival and operational status." — Senior Security Official, Jammu-Kashmir
Reports from news agency PTI confirmed that these visuals were routinely transmitted to Pakistani handlers to keep them updated on his physical condition and morale, despite his mounting distress in the isolated hideouts.

Cracking Down on Local Logistics and Support Networks

Following the 29 September encounter in the Palmedan Doodhpathri area of Budgam, local police recovered a suspicious cache containing medicines and food supplies near the hideout site. Investigators are currently probing the local logistics chain to identify the Overground Workers (OGWs) who facilitated logistical support for the slain terrorist.

The recovered materials are now a core part of the ongoing investigation registered under FIR No. 181/2026 at Police Station Khansahib. Security forces remain firm on dismantling the entire support infrastructure that enabled high-value commanders like Moosa to sustain themselves in the remote forests of the Union Territory.
