Software Engineer Dies by Suicide from 43rd Floor of Noida High-Rise Amid Depression and Family Dispute

Tragic Incident at Noida's Tallest Building

In a heart-wrenching incident that has sent shockwaves across the National Capital Region, a young software engineer died by suicide after jumping from one of the tallest residential and commercial complexes in Noida. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Sambhav Jain, a resident of Manesar in Gurugram. The tragic event unfolded at the Spira tower of the Supernova society located in Sector-94, Noida, leaving police and local residents stunned.

According to preliminary police reports and eyewitness accounts, the engineer leaped from the 43rd-floor balcony of the high-rise. Sector-126 police station officials rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information, securing the area and sending the body for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Medical Expenses and Financial Strain

Police inquiries and discussions with grieving family members revealed that Sambhav Jain had been battling severe mental distress for quite some time. Married in 2024, he became a father in 2025; however, the child was born premature in the seventh month. Due to premature birth complications, the newborn required prolonged and intensive medical treatment.

Family sources indicated that nearly 40 lakh rupees had already been spent on the infant's medical care, with continuous financial outlays adding to the burden. Compounding this immense financial strain were escalating marital discord and legal disputes, which deeply affected his psychological well-being.

Marital Dispute and Legal Proceedings

Relations between the couple had soured shortly after the child's birth, leading to a divorce petition filed by his wife in court. Legal negotiations and settlement talks had been underway, with an agreed settlement amount of approximately 15 lakh rupees, of which an initial installment had already been paid.

Police noted that the mounting pressures from legal obligations, heavy debts, and the ongoing child health crisis pushed him into a state of acute depression. Prior to the tragic act, he had recorded a video on his mobile phone and shared distress messages with his family.

Plea for Mental Health Awareness

This tragic incident underscores the critical importance of addressing mental health issues proactively. Mental health experts urge individuals dealing with overwhelming stress, depression, or personal crises to seek immediate professional counseling and lean on family support systems. Helpline services remain available across the country to assist those in distress.
