Luxury car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has officially unveiled its much-anticipated Range Rover Sport Electric, marking a significant milestone in its electrification journey. Bookings for this high-performance electric SUV have officially commenced in India, creating immense excitement among automotive enthusiasts. As the first all-electric model in the Range Rover Sport lineup, it bridges the gap between zero-emission mobility and legendary sporting dynamics.
Advanced 800V Architecture and 609 Km Range
The new Range Rover Sport Electric is built on JLR’s advanced 800-volt flexible modular longitudinal architecture, which is shared with the flagship Range Rover Electric. Equipped with a massive 118.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the SUV boasts a claimed WLTP range of up to 609 kilometers on a single charge. This impressive range ensures that owners can undertake long-distance journeys without range anxiety, combining sustainability with ultimate luxury.
Exceptional Performance and Torque Output
Performance remains a cornerstone of the Range Rover Sport heritage. The electric model features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup that generates an astonishing 550 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. JLR claims that this 850 Nm torque figure is the highest ever recorded in any Range Rover Sport model's history. Furthermore, the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds, delivering blistering performance comparable to dedicated sports cars.
Rapid Charging Capabilities
Understanding the needs of modern electric vehicle owners, the Range Rover Sport Electric supports up to 350kW DC fast charging. When plugged into a high-power compatible charger, the battery can be replenished from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 22 minutes. A quick 10-minute charge can add up to 220 kilometers of driving range, making pit stops during long road trips exceptionally short and convenient.
Striking Design and Luxurious Interior
Visually, the electric variant retains a strong resemblance to its internal combustion engine counterparts. It features sleek headlights, an aero-optimized black grille, flush door handles, and aerodynamic inserts with up to 22-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin is packed with cutting-edge technology, including a 13.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 13.7-inch digital driver display, four-zone climate control, and powered, heated, and ventilated seats for maximum comfort.
