The Indian electric two-wheeler market is witnessing a massive shift towards performance-oriented and lightweight machines. Consumers are no longer satisfied with just basic range; they demand agility and a thrilling riding experience. In line with this growing trend, Ultraviolette Automotive is gearing up to introduce its new electric enduro motorcycle, officially named the Shockwave.
The company aims to redefine off-road and adventure riding with electric power. The motorcycle is built to cater to riders who seek a lightweight frame combined with massive torque and advanced engineering. Production lines are currently being set up at the company's existing manufacturing facility, ensuring a smooth transition from concept to reality in the coming years.
Advanced 100V Electrical Architecture
At the core of the Ultraviolette Shockwave is the company's newly developed 100V electrical architecture. This innovative system is engineered to provide superior power delivery, enhanced thermal efficiency, and optimized charging performance. It is the same foundational technology that will also power upcoming models like the Ultraviolette Tesseract.
The motorcycle is powered by an electric motor that pushes out 14.5bhp, accompanied by a staggering peak torque of 505Nm. This immense torque figure ensures instant throttle response across various terrains. Equipped with a 4kWh battery pack, the Shockwave promises an IDC estimated range of 165 kilometers on a single full charge.
Blistering Performance and Practical Design
Performance enthusiasts will find plenty to love about the Shockwave. According to the manufacturer, the electric bike can accelerate from 0 to 60 kilometers per hour in a mere 2.9 seconds. It boasts a top speed of 120 km/h, making it suitable for both adventurous trail rides and regular commuting.
The design draws inspiration from classic two-stroke motorcycles, focusing heavily on a lightweight and agile riding character. It will be offered in both single-seater and dual-seater configurations. The chassis utilizes a robust steel frame, paired with telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock setup to handle rough terrain effortlessly.
Cutting-Edge Features and Safety
Safety and control are paramount in the Shockwave. It comes equipped with switchable dual-channel ABS, four traction control modes, and six levels of regenerative braking. Wire-spoke wheels—21-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear—wrapped in dual-purpose tires ensure maximum grip on and off the road. With a scheduled launch in the first quarter of 2027, the Shockwave is poised to disrupt the electric motorcycle landscape.
