Popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp has launched a brand new feature called 'Guest Call'. This innovative feature allows people who do not use WhatsApp or have the application installed on their smartphones to still participate in WhatsApp calls. The company announced this update through its official blog, making communication even more accessible.
Traditionally, group or individual calls required both participants to have the application downloaded and set up. With this update, the barrier has been lowered significantly, allowing seamless connectivity.
How Does Guest Calling Work?
Under the guest mode, call links can only be generated by existing WhatsApp users. These links can then be shared with anyone who does not use the app. By clicking on the link, non-users can easily join group calls or audio conferences. For security and privacy, the host must approve every non-WhatsApp user trying to join the call each time.
Full Audio Features for Guests
Users joining via guest calls will have access to standard audio calling features available to regular users. While the feature is currently being rolled out globally, full availability details are expected to expand in the coming days.
