While employees usually expect salary hikes or basic bonuses from their bosses, a generous business owner in China went far beyond expectations by gifting brand-new luxury BMW cars to her loyal staff members. The heart-warming gesture has captured widespread attention on social media.
Heartbroken by Staff Struggling in the Cold
According to reports from the South China Morning Post, Ma Yanli, who runs a popular hotpot restaurant chain in Henan province, rewarded her top-performing employees with luxury vehicles. The idea struck her during the previous winter when she watched her staff commute to work on electric scooters in freezing temperatures.
One morning, she saw her long-serving employee, Li Ji, arrive at the restaurant with a red face, purple ears, and stiff hands due to the biting cold. Feeling deeply moved since Li Ji had worked with her for over eight years, Ma thought, "I travel comfortably in my heated car; why shouldn't they?" Determined to ease their daily struggles, she purchased luxury BMW cars fully paid upfront and handed over the keys to deserving staff members.

No Conditions Attached to the Grand Gesture
Li Ji expressed utter disbelief and joy upon receiving the surprise gift, noting that she never imagined owning such a vehicle without paying a single penny or signing any binding employment contracts. Ma firmly believes that corporate success is a collective achievement driven by the workforce, and therefore, her employees deserve to share the fruits of that labor.
This is not the first time Ma has gone out of her way to reward her staff. She routinely distributes festive bonuses and daily essentials during traditional holidays, cementing her reputation as an exemplary employer whose story continues to inspire millions online.
