The horrific fire incident in the Aliganj area of Lucknow, which claimed 15 young lives, remains etched in public memory as one of the most tragic disasters in recent times. The sudden blaze engulfed the entire building within minutes, filling the floors with dense, toxic smoke and trapping numerous individuals inside. Weeks after the incident, the primary questions revolved around the origin of the fire and the reasons behind the inability of the victims to escape in time.
After 87 days of meticulous investigation, local police have successfully filed a comprehensive chargesheet running into over 500 pages in court. ACP Aliganj Shashi Prakash Mishra confirmed the development, stating that the probe encompassed all relevant aspects of the incident. The chargesheet details the exact roles of the accused, the technical reasons behind the rapid spread of the fire, and the systemic barriers that hindered timely rescue operations.
Key Findings and Accused Individuals Named in the Probe
The police have named building owner Virendra Shukla along with studio operators Suresh Kumar, Ram Kashyap Upadhyay, and Tushar Krishna Jaiswal in the chargesheet. Meanwhile, Virendra Shukla's brother and building partner, Surendra, remains absconding, and law enforcement agencies are actively searching for him to ensure comprehensive accountability.
