Video: Biryani Vendor Beaten With Belts and Kicks in Lucknow Over Suspected 'Restricted Meat'

A shocking incident has emerged from the Itaunja police station area in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where a biryani vendor carrying meat was allegedly beaten up in broad daylight. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussions. According to the victim, he was intercepted on the road and assaulted with kicks, fists, and belts under the pretext of carrying restricted meat.

Vendor Intercepted on Scooter, Brutally Assaulted

The victim has been identified as Rizwan, who runs a biryani cart in the Mahona area. According to Rizwan, he was heading to a hotel on his scooter to transport meat for cooking and selling at around 8:30 AM on September 20. As soon as he reached the Itaunja area, a group of individuals who were already present intercepted his scooter.

Rizwan alleged that the accused started hurling abuses, claiming he was carrying restricted meat, and subsequently initiated physical assault. Instead of coming to his rescue, the attackers thrashed him mercilessly with kicks and belts, leaving him with severe injuries. The victim has named Rana Yadav, Shanu, and Suraj in his formal complaint.

Police Register FIR, Meat Sample Sent for Lab Testing

Following the incident, Rizwan reached the Itaunja police station and filed a written complaint demanding strict action and justice. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case against Rana Yadav, Shanu, and Suraj. DCP North Amit Kumar Anand stated that the police have taken custody of the meat recovered from the spot.

To determine whether the meat is actually restricted, police have forwarded samples to the veterinary officer for formal testing. Itaunja Station House Officer Sobaran Singh stated that a thorough probe is underway, incorporating the viral video and eyewitness accounts. Further legal action will follow based on concrete evidence gathered during the investigation.
