High Drama in Connaught Place Over Tricolour March
The heart of New Delhi witnessed high tension and heavy police deployment as the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) attempted to carry out a tricolour march. Authorities had already imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 to prevent any law and order disruptions in the bustling commercial hub.
Despite warnings and a lack of official permission, hundreds of students, activists, and onlookers gathered in the inner circle of Connaught Place. Security forces were quick to intervene, cordoning off the area and preventing protesters from staging an organized march.
Key Leaders Detained Before March Progresses
CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke was taken into police custody even before the march could officially commence. Police stated that the action was precautionary, citing previous violations and pending legal notices following an earlier unauthorized gathering at Jantar Mantar.
Simultaneously, AISA National President Neha Bora and several other student activists were detained by police personnel while participating in the protest. The detentions triggered minor scuffles and heightened political friction at the site.
Crowds Scatter Amid Strict Police Vigil
Reports from the ground indicated a lack of cohesive leadership among the gathered protesters, who broke into smaller, fragmented groups across the inner circle. While some chanted slogans against authorities, others remained mere spectators.
Delhi Police maintained strict vigilance, ensuring that traffic and daily commerce in the area were not severely paralyzed. Authorities reiterated that unauthorized public gatherings in vital security zones will be dealt with strictly under the law.
