Hello readers, I am the Senior On-the-Ground Investigative Reporter for 'The Freelance'. The current box office clash in Indian cinemas has stunned trade analysts. Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam 3' has unleashed a tsunami, sweeping aside major releases, including Veer Pahariya's 'Prem Keetanu'.
Drishyam 3's Box Office Dominance
Released on Friday, 'Drishyam 3' took over the box office immediately. Within two days, early collections indicate the film is sprinting towards the 250-crore club. Films like 'Digger', 'The One', and 'Prem Keetanu' have suffered major setbacks against this theatrical wave.
The Struggles of 'Prem Keetanu'
Veer Pahariya's 'Prem Keetanu' faced an underwhelming response within just 48 hours of its release. Multiplexes and single screens witnessed audiences heavily favoring 'Drishyam 3', proving that strong star power and established franchises dominate over moderate word-of-mouth.
Salman Khan's Screening and Viral Drama
Amidst the box office blues, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's unexpected appearance at a special screening of 'Prem Keetanu' grabbed headlines. A zealous fan attempted to grab his hand, leading to security personnel forcefully pushing him away. The viral video generated digital traction, but failed to translate into ticket sales.
Conclusion and Market Outlook
Our ground reports confirm that Indian audiences are currently prioritizing established, high-content thrillers. 'Prem Keetanu' now faces an uphill battle to retain screen counts in the coming weekdays.
