Former Indian cricket team stalwart and coach Ravi Shastri recently shared several untold and entertaining anecdotes from the cricketing world during a comedy show appearance. In the upcoming new episode of 'The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 5', Ravi Shastri will be seen gracing the stage alongside legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar. Ever since the promo was released, it has created immense excitement among fans. In the promo, Ravi Shastri narrates a fascinating story from the early dating days of star batsman Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma.
Anushka's Presence and Virat's 'Warrior' Mode
While conversing with host Kapil Sharma, Ravi Shastri spoke about cricketers' personal lives and the presence of partners during matches. In a witty manner, he mentioned that players need their partners around for emotional and mental support. He then cited the example of Virat Kohli to explain how having a partner in the stands impacted performance.
Shastri recalled that during a match when their relationship was quite new, Anushka Sharma was present in the stands. According to Shastri, Virat stepped onto the field like a 'warrior' and played a phenomenal knock of 160 runs. Upon reaching his century, Virat kissed his bat and gave a flying kiss gesture towards Anushka in the stands. Shastri's hilarious reenactment left everyone on the sets, including Kapil Sharma, in splits.
Comedy and Entertainment Galore
Apart from cricketing tales, the episode promises a heavy dose of comedy. Krushna Abhishek appeared dressed up as US President Donald Trump, delivering punchlines that left the audience laughing out loud. Meanwhile, Sunil Grover was seen channelling a persona inspired by Kapil Dev. Towards the end of the episode, Ravi Shastri also took a witty dig at modern-day cricket and the IPL, adding more flavor to the laughter-filled evening.
