Sampatchak PHC Faces Severe Sanitation Crisis
The Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Sampatchak, near Patna, is currently struggling with poor sanitation and a complete lack of drainage systems. Filth can be seen from the main entrance to the interior premises of the hospital, causing distress to patients and visitors alike.
Waterlogging Due to Low Elevation
Locals pointed out that the PHC premises are situated at a much lower level compared to the main Gaya-Patna road and the nearby block gate. Consequently, rainwater easily enters the hospital campus and stays stagnant for days due to the absence of a proper drainage outlet, turning the area into a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Blame Game Between PHC and Municipal Body
While PHC in-charge Dr. Renu Kumari Prasad stated that multiple letters were sent to the Sampatchak Municipal Council for urgent cleaning, Municipal Council President Amit Kumar countered that campus cleaning inside government institutions falls outside their jurisdiction.
