Having crossed over five decades of togetherness, their bond continues to inspire millions. Recently, the veteran couple graced a special book launch event for legendary lyricist and poet Gulzar in Mumbai, creating a moment that instantly captured the nation's attention.
Jaya Bachchan is widely known in media circles for maintaining a stern demeanor and often keeping a distance from paparazzi. Her strict reactions to flash photography and loud noises are well documented across entertainment portals. However, this high-profile event presented a completely different side of her, leaving both attendees and fans pleasantly surprised by her radiant and cheerful mood.
Amitabh Bachchan Proves to Be the Ultimate Gentleman
A heartwarming video from the event has taken social media by storm. In the footage, Amitabh Bachchan can be seen gently extending his hand to help Jaya navigate the stairs leading up to the stage. Displaying classic gentlemanly grace, the veteran actor ensured his wife's comfort every step of the way.
Big B looked dapper in a white kurta-pajama paired with a striking blue Jodhpuri jacket, while Jaya looked elegant in a pristine white ethnic suit. Their synchronized entry onto the stage under the warm lights became the highlight of the evening, drawing immense appreciation from fans who continue to celebrate their enduring chemistry.
When Gulzar's Remark Brought Out Jaya's Rare Laughter
The most unforgettable moment of the evening unfolded when legendary poet Gulzar made a lighthearted remark while standing alongside the couple. Caught off guard by the witty comment, Jaya Bachchan burst into spontaneous and heartfelt laughter. Seeing the usually reserved actress genuinely amused and smiling brightly was a rare visual treat for everyone present.
Unable to contain his happiness at seeing his wife joyful, Amitabh Bachchan also broke into a gentle smile. Celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani and several fan pages shared the video online, triggering an avalanche of reactions from netizens who could barely believe their eyes.
Fans React in Amazement to the Viral Video

Fans praised the rare glimpse of joy, noting how peaceful and content she appeared during the interaction. The genuine camaraderie shared between the veteran stars served as a reminder of the quiet warmth that defines long-standing relationships away from the arc lights.
Big B Attends Event Despite Knee Injury
Amitabh Bachchan's presence at the venue was particularly commendable given his recent health updates. On a recent episode of his game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 18', the megastar had revealed that he suffered a knee injury after a minor slip on set. Despite the physical discomfort, he walked into the venue unaided, demonstrating his unwavering dedication and resilience.
On the professional front, the legendary actor is gearing up for several high-profile projects, including Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2' and the courtroom thriller 'Section 84'. Meanwhile, Jaya Bachchan is set to star in Vikas Bahl's upcoming film 'Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling', alongside Wamiqa Gabbi and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
