Video: Major blow to Uddhav faction as national spokesperson Anand Dubey joins Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena

In a significant political development in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena (UBT) suffered a major jolt as its national spokesperson and prominent Hindi-speaking face, Anand Dubey, resigned from the primary membership of the party. Following his resignation, he formally joined the ruling Shiv Sena in the presence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Mumbai.

Explaining his decision, Dubey stated that he took this step with a heavy heart after feeling unsettled within the party for several months. He expressed strong disagreement with the stance taken by the Shiv Sena UBT leadership regarding the Election Commission and other administrative matters, noting that he could no longer reconcile with the party's trajectory on these fronts.

'Will not travel in a train infested with cockroaches'

Known for his sharp articulation, Dubey used a metaphorical analogy while explaining his departure, stating, "I will not travel in a train that has cockroaches in it. When I find the right platform, I will board." He made it clear that his core ideology aligns with historical icons like Chhatrapati Shivaji महाराज and Veer Savarkar, signaling a complete break from his former political association.

A Setback for the Opposition Alliance

Political analysts view Dubey's exit not just as a loss for the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction, but also as a tactical setback for the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition. As parties gear up for intense political battles in the state, losing a key national spokesperson who effectively communicated in Hindi could impact the party's outreach beyond regional boundaries.
