The recruitment process for sub-inspectors in the Bihar police department has once again run into massive controversy. Key student representatives accompanied the delegation, vociferously complaining that systemic flaws and rampant corruption in the examination system are destroying the futures of hardworking aspirants. They pointed out that question papers were allegedly circulating on social media platforms well before the commencement of the exam, yet the commission chose to ignore the initial outcry and declared results arbitrarily.
Scrutiny Over Viral Question Papers and Administrative Apathy
Aspirants and academic experts claim that severe administrative lapses plagued the BPSSC preliminary examination held across multiple shifts. Candidates alleged absolute uniformity between the questions that went viral on social media prior to the test and those actually printed in the exam booklets. Despite immediate protests outside test centers back then, authorities proceeded with publishing results without addressing the core grievances.
Educationist Guru Rehman strongly emphasized that prima facie evidence clearly indicated paper leakage. He remarked, "We have submitted all necessary documents and proofs to the EOU officials exposing the irregularities during the prelims. Our demand is straightforward: cancel the entire recruitment cycle and conduct a fair re-examination."
EOU Top Official Assures Impartial and Thorough Investigation
Following the protests and submission of memoranda, Additional Director General of Police (ADG) for the Economic Offences Unit, Amit Kumar Jain, personally interacted with the candidates. He assured the delegation that the police department is examining the matter with utmost seriousness. The ADG reminded students that just as the mains examination was recently canceled after uncovering solid evidence of tampering, the preliminary exam documents are currently undergoing rigorous forensic and documentary analysis.
Authorities stated that technical and digital footprints are being thoroughly scrutinized. If investigations establish that rules were flouted and systematic cheating occurred during the preliminary test, strict penal actions will follow without exception.
