Proving this adage true, 19-year-old Ritesh Pal from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has emerged as the winner of the popular dance reality show 'India's Best Dancer' Season 5. Competing against some of the finest talents from across the country, Ritesh captured the hearts of judges and audiences alike with his breathtaking contemporary performances, ultimately lifting the coveted trophy.
Along with the prestigious winner's title, Ritesh was awarded a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh. Throughout this gruelling 17-week journey, he was guided by his choreographer Pratik Utekar, whose mentorship helped shape Ritesh's raw talent into a winning act. The victory marks a monumental turning point in the young dancer's life, transforming him from a local talent into a nationwide sensation.
Overcoming Financial Hardships and Family Resistance
Ritesh's journey to the top was far from a cakewalk. Coming from a modest family background in Raipur, he faced severe financial constraints early in life. Initially, his family was skeptical about his passion for dancing and urged him to focus on more conventional paths to support the household. Due to financial pressures, Ritesh even took up a job at a local salon run by his brother to earn his pocket money.
Despite the odds stacked against him, Ritesh refused to let go of his passion. He maintained a rigorous schedule, practicing dance for six days a week and spending his Sundays helping his brother at the salon. The small earnings from the salon helped him sustain his daily expenses while keeping his dream of becoming a professional dancer alive.
Mentorship and the Road to Victory
Reflecting on his journey, Ritesh admitted that mastering diverse dance styles was one of his biggest hurdles. While he was deeply rooted in contemporary dance, adapting to Bollywood and other commercial styles required intense training under Pratik Utekar's strict guidance. The rigorous practice sessions and high expectations eventually paid off, molding his natural body movements into clean, professional routines that consistently wowed the judges.

Having seen his family struggle through financial hardships, Ritesh believes that every achievement feels meaningful only when it brings happiness to his mother. Having previously showcased his talent on 'Dance Plus 6', Ritesh's triumph in this season marks the beginning of a promising career in the entertainment industry.
