The political atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar has heated up significantly with the announcement of biennial Legislative Council (MLC) elections. Under the NDA seat-sharing arrangement in Bihar, both the JD(U) and BJP are contesting four seats each. JD(U) had earlier released the names of its four candidates. Notably, several of the BJP's nominees, including Naval Kishor Yadav, N.K. Yadav, and Sarvesh Kumar, are sitting MLCs, reflecting the party's trust in experienced leadership to retain these vital educational and professional seats.
Strategic Lineup Announced for Uttar Pradesh Seats
Uttar Pradesh, with its large electoral base, witnesses high-stakes contests in legislative council polls. The BJP has named six candidates for the ongoing elections. Meanwhile, Dr. Pramod Mishra has been nominated for the Varanasi Teachers seat.
Additionally, Engineer Harikishor Tiwari has been given the ticket from the Agra Teachers constituency, and Dhruv Tripathi will contest from the गोरखपुर-फैजाबाद Teachers seat. With the Samajwadi Party having already released its complete list of candidates, the stage is set for a direct and competitive showdown between the two major political forces in the state.
