In view of evolving security assessments, the security cover for Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar has been significantly stepped up. Additional security personnel have been deployed around his official residence and the Election Commission headquarters in New Delhi.
Intelligence Inputs Prompt Additional Safeguards
According to reports from security agencies, the decision to augment the security apparatus came after a comprehensive review of threats to key constitutional functionaries. While the CEC already had a robust security detail, the dynamic nature of current responsibilities warranted a tighter perimeter.
Authorities have ensured that movement protocols for the CEC are strictly monitored, minimizing vulnerability during official travels and public engagements.
Bolstered Presence at Official Premises
Outside his official bungalow, the security footprint has visibly expanded with armed paramilitary commandos taking positions alongside local police. Strict access control measures have been implemented for visitors.
Similarly, at Nirvachan Sadan on Ashoka Road, security checks have been intensified. Every visitor is subjected to rigorous verification, and surveillance has been scaled up to maintain uncompromised safety standards for the election watchdog's leadership.
